About Marquetry : Marquetry is the art that refers to surface's decoration mostly
with wood veneers and also with alternative materials, such as brass leaves,
bronze leaves, silver leaves and acrylic plastics with pearls and shells. It can be
applied to all wooden surfaces mainly in furniture (dinning tables, buffet etc.),
interior doors, kitchen and closet doors, and also in special constructions such as
wooden fireplaces and stairs, wall veneering, paintings and music instruments.
There is no restriction in design and dimensions.
About us : Misailidis family started involving with marquetry art in Konstantinoupoli
at 1947, with Sotiris Misailidis. In the year of 1958, his nephew George Misailidis,
makes his first step to the art, and together they bring their art to Athens, where
they create their workshop. At 1979, they make their first individual exhibition with
marquetry paintings and following they took part in several individual and group
exhibitions. Since 1997, along with George Misailidis, his son Dimitris Misailidis,
based on their know-how and their long last experience, they continue with desire
for creativity.
